This image was recently highlighted in Am Baile's 'Picture Detective' feature, run in conjunction with the Inverness Courier. It shows three boys from Alness who had just taken part in the Piping Competition at the 1994 Inverness Music Festival. They are, from left to right, Nial Stewart (then 17 years old), Gary Stewart (then 10) and Alistair Stewart (then 12). With them are their parents, Doreen and Andrew. The competition took place at Dalneigh Primary School.

Gary and Alistair continued to compete in junior piping competitions until they left school. Niall moved on to compete at senior level and is now one of Scotland's top professional pipers. e won the Gold Medal for Piobaireachd at the 2011 Northern Meeting Piping Competition at Eden Court, Inverness. At the time of writing (2011) he is employed by Highland Council as the piping instructor for schools in south west Skye and Lochalsh.
