Children's Outing to Lossiemouth, 1994

This image was recently highlighted in Am Baile's 'Picture Detective' feature, run in conjunction with the Inverness Courier. The occasion is a children's outing to Lossiemouth in 1994, organised by Soroptimist International Inverness and Nairn. Hilary Hansen was a police inspector and president of the organisation at the time. She joined Inverness district councillors Sheila MacKay, the late Tom MacKenzie, and taxi driver Frank Fraser, with two unknown young girls.

Soroptimist member Katherine Thew believes it was the first of the annual children's trip to the seaside, in association with fourteen city taxi drivers who decorated their vehicles with balloons.
