John Cobb's Funeral, 1952

John Cobb's funeral procession crossing the old Ness suspension bridge. John Cobb lost his life in September 1952 while attempting to break the world water speed record on Loch Ness.

The suspension bridge was first opened in 1855 but was closed in 1959, 20 years after plans were made to replace the bridge with the one that exists today due to the volume of traffic using the bridge
