Railway smash at Gollanfield

Before the Fort George branch of the Highland Railway opened in 1899, the station between Dalcross station and Nairn was called Fort George. A branch line was opened to Ardersier in 1899. The point at which the line split was at the old Fort George station. The station was renamed Gollanfield Junction because of the area it passed through. This accident took place in June 1953
