Simon Christopher Joseph Fraser, 17th Lord Lovat, had a distinguished career as a Commando leader during World War II and emissary to Stalin in Moscow in the post-war period. After retiring from public life he turned his attention to developing the family's Inverness-shire farms and became a well-known cattle breeder. He is seen here attending a cattle auction in Inverness. Lord Lovat died in 1995
