The photograph shows the Ceremony as the Freedom of Dingwall is conferred on the Seaforth Highlanders by the Provost of Dingwall, Provost Sandy Macrae BEM, at the Jubilee Park, Dingwall on 15th May 1954. Major General Sir John E Laurie, Bt, CBE, DSO, Colonel of the Seaforth Highlanders, is accepting the Freedom Scroll which has just been read out by the Town Clerk Mr WS Dewar. The original Scroll is on display in the Regimental Museum of The Highlanders at Fort George.
