Wrecked boat at Foulis Ferry, near Evanton

This wrecked fishing boat, known as a 'Zulu' type, lay on the forshore at Foulis Ferry, near Evanton, Ross-shire. It was wrecked at the time of World War I when many of the fishing crews were called up. After the war, either the fishermen did not return or the 'Zulus' themselves had been superceded, or were beyond repair and were left to disintegrate.

The remains of at least two 'Zulus' can still be seen at Ardullie Point and there are some planks and fittings still lying on the foreshore at Foulis
