Ian MacBain, age 14, a member of the Inverness Swimming Team, beside the cash desk at the South Kessock Ferry Pier. He competed with the ferry boat to cross the strait between Inverness and North Kessock. At that time, it cost six shillings to make one journey on the ferry boat. The woman in the back row, third from the right, is Mrs MacDonald, whose son Jocky MacDonald captained the Australian swimming team at the Commonwealth Games in the 1960s. He was also Inverness Champion. The man wearing a hat is Hugh Livingston, who was President of the LMS swimming club
