This squad of recruits at Cameron Barracks, the Regimental Depot of The Queen's Own Cameron Highlanders in 1953, is commanded by Lieutenant Patrick D Brown, who is giving the order to halt outside the Regimental Hall. The Sergeant in front of the squad is Sergeant A Roberts, a squad instructor at the Regimental Depot at the time. In the background is Regimental Sergeant Major Alexander Gibbins. Lieutenant Brown and his brother both served as officers in the Cameron Highlanders. Their grandfather Colonel HR Brown won the DSO and Bar with the 5th (Lochiel's) Service Battalion The Queen's Own Cameron Highlanders in World War I.
