This photograph was taken in 1955 in the grounds of Fortrose Cathedral, when Fortrose celebrated its 500th anniversary. During the ceremony Provost John Anderson received the burgh's new chain of office and Madeleine, Countess of Middleton gained the Freedom of the Burgh.
