A Decorator's shop window display

A decorator's shop window display, featuring wallpaper and, most prominently, several packs of 'Tapwata dry paste for paperhangers', with the claim 'only cold water needed to stir into a strong adhesive paste'. The packs cost 6d and 1shilling. Much emphasis is placed on the fact that Tapwata is a British product. A notice at the front of the display informs us that the window was entered in the Tapwata national window dressing competition. The shop has not yet been identified but is believed to be in the Inverness area as this item comes from the collection of the Inverness-based photographer, David Whyte
