Invergarry Dam

The Invergarry Hydro-electric dam is hidden away in a gorge a little way downstream from the outlet of Loch Garry. The dam is fairly small compared to others, approximately 50ft high and 150ft long, in order to minimise the disruption to agriculture in the area. Grazing was at a premium around the loch so only a small increase in the water level could be permitted. The dam also includes a Borland fish lift designed to allow migrating salmon to move upstream.
