Mario's for sweets

Mario's sweet-shop has an impressive Christmas display at a trade fair or exhibition. Do you remember buying sweets at Mario's as a child? If so, why not tell us about it?

Mario Bernardi owned this shop and the fruit shop next door in Eastgate for over 20 years before both shops were demolished in 1972 to make way for Marks and Spencer. Mario then relocated across the road and retired in 1987. After a brief spell under new ownership the shop was sold in 1993 and is now part of Girvan's restaurant. Mario's was probably the best known sweet shop in Inverness at the time.
