Aerial view

The photographer's records show that this aerial view was taken for 'Captain Fresson' in 1957. Captain Ernest Edmund Fresson pioneered air services in the Highlands. His achievements include the region's first airmail service and the first scheduled passenger service, both from Inverness to Wick and Kirkwall in May 1933. The following year, he undertook Britain's first air ambulance flight. Captain Fresson continued to fly charters until 1957, so this photograph was taken towards the end of his career. He died in Inverness in September 1963
