Maris and Coleen Robertson

These Highland dancers are Maris (left) and Coleen Robertson. They were the youngest of five sisters who were all Highland dancers. The other sisters' names were Anna, Iona and Floran.

Anna became a dancing teacher in Nairn while Iona had an extremely successful dancing school in Inverness. Her troupe regularly took part in "The Kilt is our Delight" which ran during the summer months in the Northern Meeting Park. Many of Iona's pupils went on to compete at major Highland dancing competitions and several were champion Highland dancers.
