The Milk Marketing Boards were statutory schemes that played a big part in the milk industry from 1933-1992. They secured the rights of milk producers to control the marketing of their own supplies. The North of Scotland Milk Marketing Board was set up in November 1934 to market the milk produced in Caithness, Sutherland, Ross and Cromarty, Inverness and Nairn. The minutes, accounts, reports and publicity material of the North of Scotland Milk Marketing Board from 1934-1990 are held in the Highland Council Archives in Inverness
