Operating Theatre

Operating theatre in the Rossal Nursing Home, Island Bank Road, Inverness. The room contains an operating table, stools, several sinks and storage shelves. The room is simple, stark and clinical. Rossal, a house at 31 Island Bank Road, Inverness, was designed by W L Carruthers for one of the daughters of Dr Alexander Ross, himself a prolific architect who was also Provost of Inverness. The house became a nursing home. Its "sister" house of the same date (1888-9) is the neighbouring property at Carrol, 29 Island Bank Road.
