At the time of writing (2010) this building is occupied by a grocery shop called The Co-Op and a photocopying/scanning service called Prontaprint. A pend leads between the outlets and the façade has notable crow-step gables. No 53 is a Flemish-Baronial construction of the 19th Century. Other buildings in this style include the Town House and the premises occupied by WH Smiths.
