Biblical Garden, Elgin

These gardens, adjacent to Elgin Cathedral, have been planned and developed using plants grown in Biblical times and include most of the 110 plants mentioned in the Bible. They also contain sculptures depicting some of the parables including the Good Shepherd and the Prodigal Son.

Sponsorship totalling £55,000 was raised to carry out the first phase of development of the three acre site and the gardens opened to the public in 1996. They are now an established visitor attraction and also a practical training facility for students of horticulture at Moray College.

The gardens are managed by a partnership comprising Moray College, Moray Council and the Friends of the Biblical Garden (a registered charity, number SC035997).
