Above the Tay near Dunkeld

This photograph shows a roadside view across the Tay River, near Dunkeld. The river stretches from its source at Allt Coire Laoigh and flows for 120 miles, passing through the city of Perth, to meet the sea at the Firth of Tay, Dundee. The longest river in Scotland, it has long attracted anglers because of its excellent salmon fishing prospects. The river is also popular among canoeists, particularly in the region of the Grandtully Rapids.
