Inauguration of Wednesday Lunch Club

For many rural villages, the town hall is an important area for the inhabitants to bond and pursue shared interests, as well as to care for the more vulnerable sectors of society.

Whilst now caring for the elderly is mainly the concern of the Glenurquhart centre, the lunch club previously gave older people an opportunity to socialise. In this photograph the social workers are sitting in the front. Mr Bell, who drove the bus and who is an important figure in the shinty community can be seen in the background.
