Gordon Hall, Grantown on Spey, 1955

A view of Gordon Hall Hotel, in Grantown-on-Spey, Strathspey.

A large property dating back to Victorian times, Gordon Hall was originally called the Spey Valley Hotel, but is now home to 10 individual flats, which share the surrounding garden area.

Grantown-on-Spey was a planned town, founded in 1765 on a low plateau bordering the River Spey, on the northern edge of the Cairngorm Mountains. Located 35 miles south-east by road from Inverness, it was named after Sir James Grant, 8th Baronet and a member of Parliament.
