Duncraig Castle

A photograph of a mobile library van taken outside Duncraig Castle. Duncraig Castle is a large baronial mansion to the east of Plockton. It was built in the 1860s by Sir Alexander Matheson of the Jardine Matheson conglomerate in Hong Kong. The building later passed into the hands of Inverness-shire County Council and was used as a domestic science school for girls. The castle is now an extended family residence for four brothers, their families, and their parents.
