The first car registered belonged to Granville Hugh Baillie of London. It was a 19 cwt grey Gardner-Serpollet.

Leon Serpollet was a French designer and manufacturer of steam-powered cars. A few Serpollets were produced under license in Leeds and Milan, but most were made in France.

ST2, the Toledo, is also a steam car
