This photograph shows BR 54489 at Ballinluig on a train bound for Perth. It was taken on 15 September 1950. This ex-Caledonian Railway 72 class locomotive was built in 1921. Originally numbered CR 84, it became LMS 14489 after the grouping and continued in service until 1961.

Ballinluig was a stop on the main line of the Highland Railway. The station opened in June 1863 and was closed in 1965.
