This photograph shows HR 116 entering Blair Atholl on a goods train.

The locomotive was one of 15 strong 'Big Goods' class designed by David Jones and built by Sharp Stewart & Co. in Glasgow in 1894. It was numbered 17929 by the LMS and continued in service until June 1936.

Blair Atholl Station, on the main Perth to Inverness line, was opened in September 1863. For the first few years of its existence the name was spelt Blair Athole. It closed to goods services in November 1966 but is still a station stop for regular passenger services.
