This photograph shows BR 34004 taking on water at Blair Atholl.

The locomotive was built for the Southern Railway in June 1945. It was a member of their 4-6-2 West Country Pacific class and was named 'Yeovil'. It was rebuilt in 1958 and eventually withdrawn in 1967. It, along with two other members of the class, was part of the 1948 locomotive exchange trial. 34004 was given an LMS tender and worked the line between Perth and Inverness.

Blair Atholl Station, on the main Perth to Inverness line, was opened in September 1863. For the first few years of its existence the name was spelt Blair Athole. It closed to goods services in November 1966 but is still a station stop for regular passenger services.
