Dalguise Station

This photograph shows a southbound freight train passing through Dalguise station, on the main line between Dunkeld and Pitlochry.

Dalguise was opened to traffic on 1 June 1863. In later days, it was served only by the local trains between Perth and Blair Athol. Passenger services were withdrawn on 3 May 1965 and goods services on 27 January 1964. The line through the station remains open.

The train is hauled a Stanier Black 5 locomotive. These were introduced in the mid-1930s and remained in use until diesels took over in 1960-61.
