Tain Station Building

This photograph shows part of the main building at Tain station, taken from the footbridge. The building was out of use at the time, but the awning provided shelter for waiting passengers.

Tain is on the line from Inverness to Wick and Thurso. It was opened on 1 June 1864, when the line was extended from Invergordon to Bonar Bridge. The station remains open for passenger services but goods services were withdrawn some years ago.
