"Welcome to the Far North!"

This image shows the gardens at Georgemas Junctions being tended. A board shows the distances to the far ends of the British mainland - 45 kilometres to John o'Groats and 1455 kilometres to Land's End.

Georgemas Junction is where the Thurso Branch leaves the northern main line to Wick. The station opened on 28 July 1874, it closed to goods in January 1984 but it is still open to passengers.
