Rathven Station from the bridge

A view of Rathven Station from the overbridge.

Rathven station was opened on 1 August 1884 as a stop on the Highland Railway's branch line from Keith to Buckie. Passenger services were withdrawn as a wartime economy measure on 9 August 1915, but some freight traffic continued until 1917 when the track was lifted as it was needed for the war effort. The station never re-opened.
