LMS 14403 'Ben Attow' and 13101 on train at Aviemore in September 1929. The service is the 5.10pm from Inverness to Perth.

14403 (formerly HR 7) was built for the Highland Railway by Dübs & Co. of Glasgow in 1899. It was a member of the class of locomotive now known collectively as the 'Small Bens'. It was withdrawn from service in February 1949.

13101 was a Hughes Crab (or Horwich Mogul) 2-6-0 steam locomotive. These were designed by George Hughes and 245 were built for the LMS at their works at Horwich and Crewe between 1926 and 1932.
