HR 27 'Thurso Castle' coming off the Dava line at Aviemore. The ECJS (East Coast Joint Stock) is prominent.

HR 27 was part of the second batch of 'Castle' class 4-6-0 express passenger locomotive designed for the Highland Railway. It was built by the North British Locomotive Co and delivered in 1913. After the grouping it became LMS 14688 and continued in service until being withdrawn in February 1935.
