HR 30 'Dunvegan Castle' on train near Tain in September 1923. The service is the 6.30am from Inverness to Wick.
HR 30 was one of the final two engines of the Highland Railway's 'Castle' class 4-6-0 express passenger locomotive. It was built by the North British Locomotive Company in 1910; some 10 years after the first batch had been delivered. After the grouping it became LMS 14685 and continued in service until being withdrawn in January 1946.
