An unidentified North British Locomotive Company Class 21 diesel locomotive on train departing Inverness.

A total of 58 Class 21s were built by the North British Locomotive Company at Glasgow between 1958 and 1960. They proved to be somewhat unreliable and despite attempts to improve reliability, all were withdrawn between 1968 and 1971.
