HR 56 'Clan Mackenzie' on a northbound passenger train approaching Stanley, en route from Edinburgh to Inverness. The two leading coaches are from the North British Railway.

HR 56 was a member of the Highland Railway's 'Clan' class of 4-6-0 passenger locomotive. It was designed by Christopher Cumming and built by Hawthorn Leslie & Co. at Newcastle in 1921. After the grouping it became LMS 14768 and continued in service until being withdrawn in March 1945.
