HR 44 on a short down goods train south of Stanley.

HR 44 was part of the second batch of 0-6-4 tank engines built for the Highland Railway to perform banking duties (assisting other locomotives to pull trains up steep inclines). It was built by the North British Locomotive Co in Glasgow and delivered in April 1912. After the grouping it became LMS 15307 and continued in service until being withdrawn in November 1934.
