45098 on train arriving at Kyle in August 1952.

45098, an LMS Class 5 locomotive, was built at the Vulcan Foundry at Neton-le-Willow in April 1935. It was withdrawn from service in December 1962 and scrapped in October of the following year. The Class 5 locomotives were designed by William Stanier. Commonly known as 'Black Fives', 842 were built between 1934 and 1951.
