HR 1 'Ben-y-Gloe' on a passenger train at an unidentified location.

HR 1 was built for the Highland Railway by Dübs & Co. of Glasgow in 1898. It was a member of the class of locomotive now known collectively as the 'Small Bens'. After the grouping it became LMS 14397 and continued in service until being withdrawn in February 1949. It left the works bearing the name 'Ben Nevis' but this was soon changed. During its life its name was also spelt 'Ben y-Gloe' and 'Ben y'Gloe'.
