HR 17 'Ben Alligan' on an eastbound passenger train at Inverness.

HR 17 was built at the Highland Railway's own Lochgorm works at Inverness in 1901. It was a member of the class of locomotive now known collectively as the 'Small Bens'. After the grouping it became LMS 14413 and continued in service until being withdrawn in December 1933.
