LMS 2806 leading 5023 on train at Perth.

2806 was a Hughes Crab (or Horwich Mogul) 2-6-0 steam locomotive. These were designed by George Hughes and 245 were built for the LMS at their works at Horwich and Crewe between 1926 and 1932.

5023, an LMS Class 5 locomotive, was built at the Vulcan Foundry at Newton-le-Willow in August 1934. It was withdrawn from service in September 1963 and scrapped in February of the following year. The Class 5 locomotives were designed by William Stanier. Commonly known as 'Black Fives', 842 were built between 1934 and 1951.
