A Class 37 diesel, 37421, on a down passenger train at Achnashellach in August 1988.

37421 was built by English Electric in 1965. It was withdrawn from mainline service in 2004. In 2009 it was bought by the Pontypool & Blaenavon Railway, a preserved railway in Wales.

A total of 309 Class 37 diesel locomotives were built for British Railways between 1960 and 1965. They are sometimes referred to as English Electric Type 3 locos and nicknamed 'Tractors' due to the distinctive sound of their exhausts.
