Duntulm Castle, Skye

Duntulm Castle is a ruined castle on the north coast of Skye about 6 miles north of Uig. Originally an Iron Age broch stood on the site but the castle was built in the 14th and 15th centuries with a tower added in the 17th century. The castle changed hands between the MacDonalds and Macleods several times but was finally abandoned in the 1730s when the baby heir of the current chief was dropped (accidentally or otherwise) out of a window and killed on the rocks below.
