Glen Orchy

Glen Orchy carries the River Orchy from Bridge of Orchy to the eastern end of Loch Awe. In the 1790s the glen had a population of around 150 people. Most of these people emigrated in later years and there is now a City of Glenorchy in Tasmania and a Glenorchy on New Zealand's South Island. The Gaelic poet Duncan Ban MacIntyre was from Glen Orchy.
