Morar Sands

The 'White Sands of Morar', also known as the 'Silver Sands of Morar', lie off the west coast of Morar, overlooking the Sound of Sleat. A favourite location for tourists, especially since the opening of the West Highland Extension Railway in 1901, the area has also been used as a location for films, such as 'Local Hero' and 'Highlander'.
