Just 12 miles from Inverness the Beauly River is formed by the meeting of the River Glass and the River Farrar at Struy. It meanders north eastwards for 16 miles (26 km) before opening out into the Beauly Firth. There are spectacular falls at Kilmorack and on its banks stand the town of Beauly and Beaufort Castle.
