The River Ness

The River Ness flows a distance of 12km from the Dochfour Weir at Loch Dochfour to the Beauly Firth, passing through the city of Inverness. It is viewed here from the Greig Street Bridge, a suspension footbridge built in 1882 in the heart of Inverness. Further down the river, towards the Beauly Firth, is Friars Bridge, which carries the A82 road across the Ness. It is a three-span concrete bridge built in 1984-86 by JMP Consultants Ltd.
