The Horn is a 24 metre high stainless steel sculpture/sound installation commissioned by West Lothian council for the M8 Motorway, which runs between Glasgow and Edinburgh. The structure, which can be seen from one mile in each direction, is designed to broadcast short audio messages to passing traffic at random intervals. It has a lifespan of 25 years, during which the sounds will be continually updated. Travellers are invited to exit the motorway at junctions 4 or 5 to hear The Horn speak
