Puddings at Bunchrew House, 1994

This photograph shows some of the items on the menu at a gathering of the Highland Pudding Club. On this occasion the members met at Bunchrew House, near Inverness and dined on an eight-course meal comprising a starter (soup), Rum Pudding with Morello Cherry Sauce, Drambuie Tipsey Laird Trifle, Coffee Meringues with Whisky Cream, Very Rich Hot Chocolate Pudding, Tropical Cheesecake, Plums in Port and Apple Streusel Tart.

The inaugural meeting of the Highland Pudding Club took place on 22 July 1992 at the Longhouse Restaurant in Nairn. Members of the Club met on a regular basis in restaurants whose chefs were renowned for their puddings and deserts. In addition to some gastronomic eating they also took part in pudding related quizzes and competitions.
