Lochinver, Assynt

This photograph from around the 1870s shows the village of Lochinver in northwest Sutherland. Lochinver sits at the mouth of the River Inver, where it enters the sea loch, Loch Inver. It is the last sizeable village before the town of Thurso in Caithness and, along with Kinlochbervie, is one of the busiest fishing ports on the west Sutherland coast
